Na zdraví! / To your health! 2021
Participatory erformance as part of ‘Surrealist Sundays’ at the Art Gallery of South Australia. To coincide with the exhibition: Dušan and Voitre Marek: Surrealists at sea, the first major survey of the art of Czech-Australian brothers Dušan and Voitre Marek.
"A nip of Becherovka will settle your stomach!", drawing on hospitality, cultural and language experiences; Jenna Pippett's performance 'Na zdraví !/ To your health!' will engage participants to consider alternate views and the healing properties of bodies of water, liquids and home-remedy tonics. Taking cues from the Marek brothers' Czechoslvakian motherland and themes presented in 'Surrealists at Sea', the title of this piece is borrowed from Dušan Marek's drypoint on paper of the same name (Na zdraví), produced in 1946, Prague; the birth city of Pippett's mother.
